Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium and Qingpu Sports Park Officially Open

Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium and Qingpu Sports Park officially opened on December 13, 2009. Vice Premier Eric Li-luan Chu of the Executive Yuan said that Taoyuan County constructed the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium in less than 11 months. He hopes that the county’s achievements in promoting the international baseball stadium will serve as an important benchmark for other counties and cities in Taiwan for promoting the baseball sport and relevant facilities. In addition, Taoyuan County will be the host for the “2012 World University Baseball Championship,” a big step towards internationalization for the county. In the future, Taoyuan County Government hopes that the professional baseball league will select Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium as its main playing field.
